Mick Schumacher is one of the brightest new talents in motorsport and his name will be emblazoned across the Alpine A424 this year.
A winner in Formula 4, he secured the 2018 European F3 title before claiming the F2 championship two years later. Promoted to Formula 1, the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher raced for Haas F1 Team from 2021-22, before moving to Mercedes as a reserve driver.
In 2023, Mick drove an Endurance prototype for the first time, the German driver learning the subtleties of our new prototype alongside his future teammates. After a promising first foray, he signed up for 2024 to campaign in the premier Hypercar class of the FIA World Endurance Championship during its most competitive era in decades.
“A new chapter is beginning for me with Alpine in the WEC Hypercar category,” says Mick. “The car is impressive, and I can't wait to get started. I've grown up with single-seaters, so driving a car with a closed cockpit and covered wheels is a great opportunity to hone my driving skills. “Endurance racing is a new challenge for me, and I'm sure we will share great moments together next year with Alpine."
