As part of their ongoing commitment to sim racing, Alpine Esports revealed a string of announcements that would see the team expand sim racing operations to support performance and fan engagement.
Talent and Tournaments
Alpine Esports revealed the new driver line-up for the F1® Esports Series 2023. Fan favourite Patrik Sipos, rising star and 2022 F1® Esports Exhibition runner-up Luke Smith returned along with new driver Rubén Pedreño. They are joined by Endurance drivers Collin Spork and Tom Lartilleux. PattyPatt, an F1® content creator, joins Thomb and AnaonAir as Alpine Esports’ latest ambassador. All talent will don the newly designed kit by Kappa, the Official Kit Supplier.
The Alpine Esports Championship Series returns for 2023, offering budding racers the chance to win a share of the $60,000 in Alpine Fan Tokens, a driving experience in an Alpine GT4, an Alpine Racing TRX simulator rig from Trak Racer, BenQ Mobiuz EX3410R curved monitor and exclusive Alpine Esports merchandise. Qualifiers take place between March 27th to April 9th 2023 where the top 35 racers will head into the championship stage consisting of three rounds, on April 27th, May 11th and May 25th. Viewers will also be in with a chance to win $40,000 fan token bundles and free NFTs from the comfort of their home.
Fan Engagement
Alongside new talent, Alpine Esports revealed a new state-of-the-art Content Room “powered by QAN”, their Official Blockchain Partner. With over £50,000 worth of equipment the facility will be used to support immersive content and livestreams from drivers and ambassadors.
QANplatform, a cutting edge blockchain platform that allows partners to develop their own applications, will allow Alpine Esports to gamify their content to attract new viewers and engage with fans. The developer friendly framework will support internal operations to create programs that will automate a number of internal processes and enhance team performance and organisation.
Finally, Alpine Esports stepped into mobile gaming, partnering with the Tiny Digital Factory. To connect with a new circuit of gamers Alpine vehicles will be featured in two Web3 games, Infinite Drive and GT Manager.
Performance and Partners
Alpine Esports continuously explores new technology to develop fan engagement and performance methods. Technology brands Varjo and Tobii, spanning VR, eyewear and eye tracking respectively signed as Official Suppliers to support driver training and data tracking that will support engineering for real-world racing. Through continuous RnD with partners new hardware is being developed to aid drivers and the sim racing industry. Immersive technology partners have also offered a new way to engage with fans with VR and XR headsets being used to create content and at live events.
Finally, to give back to the wider gaming community Alpine Esports signed Special Effect, a gaming charity that supports the physically disabled, as Official Charity Partner. Together they will raise funds and awareness of accessible gaming through charity streams and industry conversations, and work to develop more accessible ways for gamers to access sim racing.
